Musée Paul Dini Villefranche sur Saône
Founded in 1863, the museum was reborn in the early 2000s following the first donation of works by Paul and Muguette Dini to the City of Villefranche-sur-Saône, followed by other donors and purchases made by the City itself.
The Paul-Dini municipal museum has been a "Musée de France" since 2003, and is spread over two exhibition areas: the Grenette space, the city's former grain market, and the Cornil space, a former textile factory. Its collections are rich with more than 1400 works (mainly paintings but also sculptures, photographs, drawings...) and present artists who have a link with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Thanks to its rich programme of events and exhibitions, the museum is now one of the most emblematic cultural venues in the city of Villefranche-sur-Saône, to be experienced alone, with friends or with the family. In the Grenette space you will find the art library, one of the forty in France, and a specialised library. Thanks to an annual subscription, you can borrow original contemporary works (prints, photographs, paintings, drawings...) to hang on your living room walls!
